Micron GP-Sport Hayabusa exhaust
If the BBC's MotoGP commentator, Charlie Cox, was commenting on these Micron pipes for the Suzuki Hayabusa, then I dare say he's declare them “about as much use as a third armpit”. No, we don't know what that means, either.
But when it comes to extra grunt, the 'Busa is hardly at the top of the list for a power boost. What it is in need of, however, is a cosmetic change and a diet, and that's where these Micron cans come in. Ditching the OE cans should be any self-respecting Hayabusa owner's first job, as the left one weighs as much as Anne Widdecome, while the right one is as heavy as Jo Brand – with similar aesthetics, too.
The GP-Sport range is new for 2008 and features a removable baffle that should keep the neighbours happy (or unhappy if you decide to permanently remove it). Looks-wise, they're a big improvement too, available in this ceramic black as well as both a satin and polished finish (although the polished and black versions are an extra £50 per can).
Simon's promised to fit them onto his mean machine, so any power gains will be straight from the horse's mouth.
Costs: £632
