HM quickshifter 2009

HM quickshifter 2009
January 5, 2009 - Kenny Pryde

Dave Smith of this parish fitted an HM quickshifter to his R1 'a while ago' and declared himself very happy with it. Well, the HM team weren't quite as happy with it, since they have tweaked the gizmo to make it tougher and more adjustable.
Essentially this shifter incorporates a strain-gauage, the sensitivity of which can be adjusted – there are no actual moving parts, which does make it sound rather bomb proof (or crash proof). There's an LCD screen which you can see in the pic, which makes it easy to adjust the amount of pressure needed to instigate a shift.
It's a British company whose products were used by the Stobart Honda team in WSB last year and Gregorio Lavilla (ex BSB champion) declared himself impressed by its performance last season.
According to HM, its quickshifter is far less susceptible to vibration and provides far more consistent and reliable performance. There's plenty of info/propaganda on the HM quickshifter site which you can find here.
