Forcefield protection

December 18, 2006 - dB

Forcefield specialises in 'soft' body armour, and its flexible Pro back-protector (£79.99) recently outperformed several hard-shell competitors in impact-absorption tests conducted at Cambridge University. The protection is provided by triangular-structured shock-absorbing material combined with dense layers of foam. In the test, the protector absorbed up to three times more impact energy than the rival products. Forcefield claims the Pro protector is also more comfortable and less restrictive than rigid types. The firm also produces a full range of body armour and recently launched the Race-lite chest protector (£29.99), which is slim enough to fit inside a jacket or suit and is available in three sizes. Also new to the range, Forcefield back inserts upgrade the protectiveness of any jacket with a pocket for back armour. The inserts are available in Sport (level 1 protection/£24.99) for lighter-weight jackets, and Pro (level 2 protection/£29.99) for maximum protection. Check out the entire range at www.forcefieldbodyarmour.co.uk or call 01933 410818.
