Brendan Roberts to join Buildbase Ducati
Reigning British superstock champ, Brendan Roberts has agreed a deal with John Hackett, of JHP Ducati Coventry, and Ducati's WSB team boss, Davide Tardozzi, to race the British and World Superstock championships for the remainder of 2007. A pre-season wrist injury has meant a slow start to his world superstock campaign aboard the Xerox Ducati 1098 but after a win for Brendan last month at Silverstone (and podiums for John Laverty in BSS) things are looking better for the new 1098.
The link is likely to benefit both Ducati and JHP who both get extra, shared development time on the 1098 in readiness for rule changes in the superbike class in 2008. That only leaves Brendan to cope with two very contrasting championships in one season but the boy has clearly got talent and, well, Ducati must be looking ahead to a time when it needs another talented Aussie rider at the helm…
Brendan's first outing onboard the Buildbase Ducatis will be at the official MCRCB test at Croft on Tuesday July 3rd before competing at Oulton Park on July 13/14/15th
