Charpentier makes it two in a row
September 7, 2005 - Ten Kate dominate Valencia

It was a one-two for Winston Ten Kate at Valencia as the Honda riders showed the form that has them standing proud at the front of the championship. Charpentier started from pole and made life easy for himself by riding at the front from the off while his team-mate Katsuaki Fujiwara had to battle through from sixth place as lap one didn't get away cleanly for the Japanese star. But once Fujiwara got to the front he proved to be a match to Charpentier and on the last lap the pair diced for lead in the closest way possible, almost wiping the pair out while attempting to slice through for the lead. The pair's dominance was underlined 21 seconds later when Kevin Curtain finished third on the Yamaha. "Before half race distance I was reading plus zero on my pit board and I knew that Kats was there. For sure he pushed me very, very hard until the end - especially on that final lap," said Charpentier afterwards, celebrating the cementing of his lead in the championship.
