I turned up late on the first day at the track where we were testing and was left with the Triumph for the first few laps. I wasn't at all settled - the fluffy fuel injection and soft handling mean I struggled to get to grips, both with the bike and Ladoux's twisty circuit. But after a few laps I started to settle down, and enjoyed it a bit more. The top-end power is great, but was hard to access on this particular circuit. Similarly the stunning brakes didn't get a chance to shine here. On the road, the Daytona is a better proposition; it's very fast, and has decent comfort levels. If you like the styling and the Triumph brand, it's worth a look. But non-patriots will do better elsewhere.
