This British kit is incredibly well made, with beautifully-turned-out aluminium/carbon components and OEM-spec wiring.
The Nemesis traction control kit includes a front-wheel speed-sensor ring that bolts on to the disc mounts, handlebar-mounted switchgear and a small display pod. It’s available to fit most current sportsbikes, and can be retrofitted to almost any two or four-cylinder bike, including carburetted machines. It uses wheel-speed sensors (the rear wheel signal comes from the bike’s OEM speed sensor, or you can fit another sensor ring) and a bank-angle sensor, to produce its traction strategies. It then cuts power by both retarding ignition and ‘intelligent’ ignition cuts.
The firm also produces a series of specialist ‘slip-map’ tables for most popular tyre fitments. So setting up the kit is simple – fit the hardware, update the TC unit with your tyre size and type, and you’re off. There are nine levels of control, altered on the move with a handlebar switch. Not cheap, but an impressive setup. We’ll be testing one in the throughout 2012 on a long term test bike – something to look forward to!
