Sidi Vortice boots
Sidi Vortice boots
Once in place, the Sidis are comfortable and supportive
For 2012, the Sidi Vortice gets a spangly new range of colours, including these sooo-this-season fluorescent ones. There are also new clips on the shin and calf-tensioners that make the boots slightly less fiddly to get done up. That said, they still hold the record for taking the longest to fasten each time you slip them on, but once in place, the Sidis are comfortable and supportive. The adjustable vents are handy to moderate sweaty/frozen toes, and the toe-sliders take ages to wear out thanks to the aluminium inserts. Every bolt-on part of the boot is available as a replacement part, including the insert in the sole.
