Aprilia Tuareg Racing completes the ninth stage of the 2026 Africa Eco Race
MARCO MENICHINI IS THE FIRST OF THE ITALIAN MANUFACTURER’S RIDERS TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE, SECURING SIXTH PLACE IN THE +650 TWIN-CYLINDER CLASS.
Aprilia Tuareg Racing’s adventure continues with the conclusion of the ninth stage of the 2026 Africa Eco Race. The route took riders and teams into the heart of Mauritania, covering a total distance of 490 km from Aidzidine to Ouad Naga.
Riding his Aprilia Tuareg Rally, Marco Menichini finished the stage in sixth position in the +650 twin-cylinder class. It was a more challenging day for Jacopo Cerutti: after a strong start, the defending champion maintained his competitive edge throughout the stage but was ultimately forced to slow down due to a technical issue. He finished the stage in seventh place in the category standings. Francesco Montanari crossed the finish line in eleventh position in the +650 class.

“Overall, today’s stage was very challenging. We began with some extremely soft dunes, which made it easy to get bogged down. Then we continued along a route with several sandy tracks, which was very physically demanding, and some fast sections. I rode well, trying to maintain a steady pace without making any mistakes. In the end, I’m happy with the result. Now we rest and prepare for tomorrow’s stage, which will be just as challenging”.
