Three Aprilias in the top five in the Brazil sprint race

FIRST PODIUM FOR JORGE MARTÍN, MARCO BEZZECCHI FOURTH

The sprint race at Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna ended with a positive balance for Aprilia Racing. Jorge Martín had a great Q2, conditioned, however, by a crash in the final moments as he was finishing his fastest lap which kept him from improving on his time. After starting from fifth position, the Spaniard put in a solid performance in the sprint race, finishing third for his first podium with Aprilia Racing.

After surpassing the threshold for Q1, Marco Bezzecchi took the second spot on the starting grid in Q2. The Italian rider went on to ride a competitive sprint race, finishing fourth.

Also worth a mention is the performance by Trackhouse MotoGP Team’s Ai Ogura, fifth across the finish line as the third Aprilia in the top five.

After everything I’ve been through, I didn’t think I would really be able to finish on the podium as early as the second sprint race. To be honest, I have worked hard for this, so this result is not by chance. I’d like to thank Aprilia and everyone who has stood by me to allow me to be back here. I am truly extremely happy.

It was a very good qualifying session, from twentieth place to second. I knew my pace wasn’t good enough in the sprint race – I was lacking something. I tried to give it my all, but it wasn’t enough. I finished close to the podium, so overall, it was a good day.

It was a rather positive day. Despite the difficulties on Friday due to the new track and the weather conditions, we managed to recover brilliantly. Taking third, fourth, and fifth place is definitely an outstanding result. Martín’s performance should be highlighted, with him back on the podium, and that gives us great confidence for the future. We are also pleased with Marco’s performance after a complicated Friday.
