The big drama unfolded in the second race. Shakey got the start but on the third lap Lowes and Shakey collided, sending Shakey out the race. Lowes went on to win the race, but was later excluded from the results following a decision from the race director and race stewards.

Lowes’ disqualification promoted James Ellison to his third win of the season, which put him into third overall in the standings, with PJ Jacobsen and Ryuichi Kiyoanri taking to the revised podium.
