Well we bloody well are. It’s been a long old wait for the first round to arrive, full of arguments about TV rights, changes to rules and endless debates about whether Gorgeous Jorge can get one over on Marc Marquez. But today at 3pm GMT, the first practice sessions kick off for the Moto3 ‘yoof’, followed 55 minutes later by Moto2 and 55 minutes after that MotoGP heads out on track.

And we’ve got a good spread of Brit riders across the classes this season, with John McPhee and Danny Kent in Moto3, Sam Lowes and Gino Rea in Moto2 and Michael Laverty, Scott Redding, Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith in MotoGP. Obviously the main event is the one we’re all waiting to see, but if you’ve not really paid much attention to the Moto2 and 3 classes before, you’re missing out. The closest, most aggressive racing is always in the lower two classes and we’ve got a good chance of seeing podiums and race wins from Sam Lowes and Danny Kent in particular.

Right, we’re knocking off early now to stock the fridge with beer, cover the coffee table in crisps and set up shop for the racing. The times you need to remember on Sunday are:

Moto3 – 4pm GMT

Moto2 – 5:20pm GMT

MotoGP – 7pm GMT
