SuperBike launches SuperBike Auctions: an exciting new digital auction platform

Big news, folks. We’ve spent the last 12 months working hard on a new auction platform that we think the motorcycle market is ready for. We’re calling it SuperBike Auctions, it’s a place to buy and sell the really good stuff. Rare, hard to find, mint-original and just too nice for the rest of the internet is what we’re gunning for. We’re going to put it all in one easy place for you, so that you don’t need to wade through the nails and rust-buckets everywhere else.

We’ve all experienced the disappointments when buying and selling bikes. You’ve got a nice bike that, for whatever reason, you want to sell but you don’t want to chop it in at a dealer for less than it’s worth, nor deal with the usual problems that traditional online auction houses entail. Tyre kickers, time wasters, and the old “oh sorry, my dog accidentally hit Buy It Now” line. Likewise, as a buyer, we’ve all been there too: you think you’ve found a nice bike but the seller wants to meet at a petrol station (no thanks), or upon closer inspection, the V5 is about as genuine as a £9 bank note.

We think SuperBike Auctions solves this problem once and for all.

For sellers: SuperBike Auctions puts sellers themselves and the bikes they’re selling through a rigorous vetting process. We’ll understand the bike’s history, check it against theft and finance databases, and take the time to fully understand the bike’s history and its story. If everything checks out, we’ll gladly accept the bike into SuperBike Auctions and we’ll lean on SuperBike’s rich content archive to create a compelling listing to show a bike off properly. We’ll agree a reserve price with you, agree a launch date and hold your hand through the process. What’s more, you as a seller will receive 100% of the hammer price, and have the opportunity to become Verified Sellers to convey an even higher level of trust to buyers. SuperBike has an audience of over a million bikers already, we’re confident we’ll be able to put your bike in front of the right kind of buyers.

For buyers: it’s much the same story. You’ll have a curated list of the best bikes for sale to chose from, safe in the knowledge all the background research has been done for you. Before bidding, you’ll go through a light verification process before you can bid, and to invest you in the bike you’re bidding on, you’ll pay a small and fair Buyers Premium on top of your winning bid (only if you win). We’ve got some handy budget and fee calculator tools to help you through the bidding process. Bidding works exactly like it would on eBay: submit your maximum bid and we’ll bid up to that amount for you against other bidders. Plus, we have anti-snipe technology, which stops those pesky last-minute bidders in their tracks.

We’ve been working hard on various consignments over the last couple of months and already have interesting auctions lined up. Fancy an immaculate low mileage Yamaha RD500, as owned by a former 500cc GP racer? How about a double race winning BSB ZX-10R, with a day on track riding with the race winner himself to get it setup for you? Maybe you’re after a late 90’s Widow Maker?

If you’re thinking of selling your race bike or road bike, or if you have hard to find original and aftermarket parts for a desirable motorcycle, we’d love to hear from you. You can apply to consign your bike using our consignment form, and we can’t wait to hear from you! Motorcycle dealers, we’re interested in working with you too, so please don’t be shy.
